Burton Memorial Coliseum The coliseum was built in 1976 on land donated by William T. Burton. It was acquired by McNeese from the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury in the early 1980s during Jack Donald’s presidency. McNeese holds basketball games, rodeos, community events, and its graduation ceremonies in the Coliseum. It is located south of the main campus, on Common Street.
