Biographical Sketch
Robert
Jordahl was born in San Antonio, Texas. Jordahl
received his doctorate from the Eastman School of
Music and his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in
music from the University of Texas at Austin.
Jordahl published approximately 70 compositions,
including organ, choral, and various instrumental
ensembles. Larger works include two ballets, four
masses, and a comic opera, “The Remarkable
Talking Bird.” Jordahl was the coordinator of
music theory at McNeese State University,
1968-1999.
Scope
and Content Note
The Papers
consist of Robert Jordahl's published and
unpublished sheet music, books, clippings,
photographs, printed materials, and programs. The
Papers are arranged into five series: Published
sheet music, Unpublished sheet music, Printed
material and photographs, Oversized materials,
and Books. All sheet music, unless otherwise
noted, was composed by Robert Jordahl.
