Special Collections Department Biographical Sketch Kenneth Leithman was a Louisiana State Representative from Jefferson Parish. He served in the Legislature from 1968 to 1984. He was a member of the “Young Turks,” a group of congressmen dedicated to reform in government. Scope and Content Note The collection consists of photocopies of Leithman’s scrapbook (1968-2000, n.d.) and a copy of photograph depicting Leithman winning a race at Loyola University (May 1952). Documents in the scrapbook concern the “Young Turks” of the Louisiana State Legislature, including a copy of the articles of incorporation and bylaws, and Leithman’s political career. The photograph of a Loyola University race includes an inset photo of Leithman and a plaque noting his induction into the Loyola Hall of Fame. The photograph includes an inscription to Paul Hart Miller.
